How to Wash a Tee
Taking care of your tee the right way keeps it looking fresh and lasting longer. Follow these simple steps to get the best results.
1. Check the Label
Always start by reading the care label inside your tee. It'll tell you the recommended wash temperature and any special instructions specific to that garment.
2. Turn It Inside Out
Before washing, turn your tee inside out. This helps protect the print or graphic on the front and reduces friction that can cause fading.
3. Wash in Cold Water
Use a cold or cool water setting (30°C or below). Hot water can cause shrinkage and fade colours faster. Cold water is also better for the environment!
4. Use a Gentle Cycle
Select a gentle or delicate wash cycle to reduce wear and tear on the fabric. Avoid heavy-duty cycles that can stretch or damage the fibres.
5. Use Mild Detergent
Choose a mild, colour-safe detergent. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals, which can break down the fabric and ruin the colour.
6. Skip the Dryer (When You Can)
Air drying is the best option for tees. Lay your tee flat or hang it on a hanger to dry naturally. If you must use a dryer, use a low heat setting.
7. Iron with Care
If your tee needs a press, iron it inside out on a low heat setting. Avoid ironing directly over any prints or graphics.
Following these steps will keep your tee looking and feeling great, wash after wash.
